When the pathogenic heat of a febrile disease is rampant and spreads to the pericardium, it will inevitably disturb the mind, resulting in high fever, irritability, coma and delirium; when the internal heat is rampant, it burns the body fluids and refines them into phlegm, and the turbid phlegm covers the clear orifices, which will inevitably aggravate the coma and delirium; the tongue is the orifice of the heart, and when the heat blocks the orifice, the tongue becomes paralyzed and speechless; when the heat is deep, the syncope is also deep, so the hands and feet of the heat syncope are accompanied. The phlegm-heat coma caused by stroke and the high fever and syncope in children treated by this prescription are also symptoms of heat closure.
